There was never a doubt when En calmly walked onto the track in his hay day that he was the horse to beat. Off the track he was just as strong and confident, calm and easy going for his handlers he was known as the reserved champion.

General Personality - En is a dominant stallion, off and on the racecourse he oozes confidence. There was never a doubt when En calmly walked onto the track in his hay day that he was the horse to beat. Off the track he was just as strong and confident, calm and easy going for his handlers he was known as the reserved champion.
Fears - En has no known fears, he's never backed down from a fight and always puts his best hoof forward.
History:
Waylon had been keeping vigil over his injured champion one night when he received an urgent call from Ren Aomori, Nichi's former owner. The man had heard of a great tragedy in the local horse races and reached out to see if Waylon had space for a particular horse. Ren was out of time and desperate, no one seemed to want to bring the old war horse onto their farm in the condition he was in. The farm he was reclaimed from had ushered him under the radar after he put Nichi out of races early in his fifth season and no one had seen the horse since. Until Ren heard about the horse finding his way into a slaughter auction.
Buying him without knowing whether or not he had the space for the horse, Ren just put him up in an old barn and then called the only person he knew might take a chance on the horse.
"Honestly, he's in good shape. A little skinny but...he still looks like himself."
"What do you want for him?"
"Nothing, you've done well with Nichi, I think En would do best with you. I'm going to send you a picture and his information, let me know and I can have him on the next flight out once he passes his vet checks."
Ren indeed sent all the information on the horse and Waylon just sat down reading it, he knew that there had been a big rivalry between Nichi and another horse but he never realized how good that other horse was. En had only run in 17 races in his short five year career, but he'd never finished worse than second and each time those losses were to Nichi. If he hadn't raced Nichi there was no telling how good this horse could have been.
After thinking it over and talking to the team he reached out and had Ren send the stallion to him. If nothing else he would provide some new blood to the stable and give him a pet project to work on. But when he saw the bay stallion come off the trailer he had to gasp, he was slight in stature compared to Nichi but there was something about him that was...remarkable. Sure he was underweight for his size, but that could be fixed.
"What do you think boss?" Colton pulled him out of his thoughts and he smiled softly.
"Let him get adjusted, get some weight on him, then we'll see."
